Hi,
I live in Ft McCoy, Marion County. I can't ride right now but should be riding again in another onth. I have a Paso Fino and would love to find someone to ride in the Ocala Forest and possibly the Greenway. Of course any trail riding will do. My horse is very calm on trails and doesn't kick or bite other horses although he does like to make funny faces at them.
Felice

Hi Felice,
I ride with a group of mixed gaited horse folk. There are quite a few Pasos, some Foxtrotters and a few TWH horses in the bunch. Some of us are always looking for a new place and new friends. We are in Keystone Heights which is about 35 miles from Ft McCoy and would love to come ride.

Hello,
My name is Kathy Hardin and I spend the winters in New Smyrna Beach with my husband and 3 Tennesse Walkers. I trail ride and usually go to the Eastern parts of the Ocala Forest or Wekiva, Geneva or Spruce Creek. I am always looking for people to ride with and would be happy to find some new trails too.

Hi,

My name is Barbara Tanner and I live in St. Augustine Florida and board at a barn that has miles of great trails and a beautiful park just a few minutes away. I would like to get together with other gaited horse owners for trail riding. I have a Racking Horse that will dog walk so we can ride with just about anyone. All the other boarders at my barn are Arabian show people and they seldom trail ride so Ranger and I are looking for new trail buddies!

HI
We live in Northern Virginia with our two TWH on our property and I've gotten very spoiled in that I have access to miles and miles of wooded trails right from our barn. We're now thinking of possibly moving to the Ocala area (Marion County?) and I wonder if you can tell me where you like to trail ride and if there are any locations where we should look at houses where we would have access to trails from our home. I do have a trailer and love exploring new trails with buddies but would really like the same convenience of nearby trails if at all possible.
Do you have any good riding clubs? One of the things we like to do is the Judged Pleasure Trail Rides where we have to deal with obstacles. . . .
Any suggestions and comments are very much appreciated. My email address is purplhat@erols.com (That's purple without the "E") Thanks.
Elaine

Hi,
This is Felice from Ft McCoy again. Well it has taken two years but I am riding and have a trailer, just can't drive! The county or state has opened up a park on 318 with horse trails. That is the eastern end of 318. I think it is Citra or Orange Springs and very close to me. I would also like to ride in Paynes Prairie which is off of 441 near Gainesville.
I now have a very green 4 year old TWH and would love to start trail riding her when ever possible. She is really sour about leaving other horses but other than that is very well behaved.

HI
I'm Gena, and I live west of Ocala in Marion County. I have a Tennessee Walker, 9 yrs old, who has discovered she likes the trails far better than she liked the show ring. Her filly, Bunny, is now 3.5 yrs and is beginning to need light riding.

Gem is happy to go with just me, or with other horses and riders. She's pacey, but she goes better with other gaited horses than she does with a w/t/c horse. Bunny just needs the experience of being 'out'. We've been on short rides with just us two, and little longer ones with other horses. She's not spooky, just 'new to it'.

I'd love nothing better than to just pop Gem or Bunny into my trailer and take off for a trail whenever the urge might strike, but I have two problems with doing that:

1. It's not particularly safe to go off riding alone!

2. I work fulltime as a teacher, so weekends are the only time I can get out, unless it is Christmas Break, Spring Break, or summertime.

My email is bossmare@boohers.com

Hello, I have two Tennessee Walker geldings, Rusty and Galvanic, and live about 10 minutes from Lake Louisa State Park which is a wonderful place to ride. It's in Clermont, FL. I can ride pretty much any day and would love to find a group of gaited/non-gaited horse owners who would like to start meeting at Lake Louisa on a regular basis to ride. My horses will both dog walk on the trail, though one has to have a "gaited fix" every once and a while and then he's fine. Email me if you live close and want to ride.

Hi, My name is Brenda. I have 2 MFT's (green) that need a lot of miles. So, if someone who is an experience rider with no horse is wanting to ride I can provide one. Remember!! they are green. Looking for others to meet up with me and other rider(s) for rides at Lake Louisa Park in Clermont, Florida. The month of June is booked for me but July is open. I'm a teacher so have Saturdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring break to ride.

Hi, My name is Timmie and I live in Geneva, Florida which is a rural area in Seminole county between Orlando, Titusville, and Deltona. I have a new TWH gelding and will ride him in the Little Econ which has miles of trails. I have a trailer but have to get my hubby to hitch it up and pull him to a site. I would like to hear from other gaited horse lovers in the area.

Hello:

I guess I'm the first person to post anything for 2006. Hope people are still checking in on this MSG board? Anyway, I live on a 5 acre farm with my two Morgans and two big dogs in Trenton, FL. I have a metal round pen, and an area next to the round pen that's usable for riding. I also live on a lime-rock road and I would love to investigate the area on horseback. If anyone would like to come out and visit me (of course you can bring your own horse or horses), I'd be happy to have you here. Also I'd be thrilled to make a new friend. [I have a nice paddock for visiting horses.]

Hi, We are wintering in Florida and we are wondering if there are any ranches in the Ocala area that would be willing to let us visit their establishment. I grew up with horses and love them. I don't have one any more, but would love to have the opportunity to visit some ranches and enjoy the beauty of just watching their beautiful horses. I just don't know how receptive they would be to us. If anyone knows where we could have the privilege of doing this, please let us know. Thank you, Cindy and Ric

HI, my name is Donna and I live in Fountain, FL, which is in Bay County. I'm very near the borders of Washington, Calhoun and Jackson Counties, and I'm looking for a trailriding partner. I have 1 TWH that I am learning to ride. I have always owned and rode quarter horses (and still do). I think the best thing for me to do is spend lots of time riding my new TWH, but he's too fast for my quarters to accompany me !! Contact me at solomonsmom@myway.com
