THIS LAST ACOUPLE STEPS THEN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL.HE JUST DOES THIS A COUPLE TIMES A DAY. THE JOINT DOESNT SEEM TO POP WHEN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL. I'M WORRIED HE IS A REALLY WELL BRED HORSE AND I HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR HIM.  WOULD ANYONE WITH EXPERIENCE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE AS HOW TO HELP HIM OVER COME.

I would have a vet take a look at your colt.  Sounds like he may have
stringhalt or something similar.  Sometimes they outgrow this and sometimes
they need surgery.  I would definately look for your vet's advice.

Harold, I really believe this is a question for your vet.  I hope  you have a good equine vet.  If this were my foal, I would call the vet in on  this.  If you don't have a real good equine vet, perhaps there is a veterinary school near where you live.  We have used our veterinary school down at Texas A&M and have had wonderful veterinary care from them.  If there is a physical problem (and there must be a reason for the foal doing this),
then you want to catch it early and not wait until a lot of damage has occurred to the leg or joint, or whatever is happening.  I have had a horse that had some trouble with the stifle locking up, but I don't remember if he did what you described or not.  I wish you luck with your foal and also wish that you would inform us of the outcome of this.
