Alabama WALKING/GAITED 6 MONTH old
Question: HI MY COLT THE OTHER DAY STARTED DRAGING HIS LEFT HIND FOOT. IT SEEMS LIKE THE HOOF JUST LOCKS UP AND TURNS BACKWARD, THEN HE JUST HOPS OR DRAGS IT. THIS LAST ACOUPLE STEPS THEN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL.HE JUST DOES THIS A COUPLE TIMES A DAY. THE JOINT DOESNT SEEM TO POP WHEN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL. I'M WORRIED HE IS A REALLY WELL BRED HORSE AND I HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR HIM. WOULD ANYONE WITH EXPERIENCE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE AS HOW TO HELP HIM OVER COME. THANKS HAROLD IN ALABAMA

I hope you have a good equine vet. If this were my foal, I
would call the vet in on this. If you don't have a real good
equine vet, perhaps there is a veterinary school near where you live.
We have used our veterinary school down at Texas A&M and have had wonderful
veterinary care from them. If there is a physical problem (and there
must be a reason for the foal doing this),
